that's the thing.. it archives into my HDD of the PC..
but the Lotus Notes server is a bit nuts.. and "loses" some
emails along the way when archiving or even moving them around for
housekeeping..
so better safe than sorry until the end of the project..
and if your project goes on for 10 years...? 
anyway, the last time we tried that...until the PC gave up on
us. lost everything, archived or not.
